After graduating college with a degree in political science, I was fortunate enough to follow my true interest in being a furniture maker and designer. Originally from Virginia Beach, my professional beginnings were in carpentry, and I continued my career as a woodworker and cabinetmaker for 7 years in New York City. Ready to leave that urban setting, my wife and I found ourselves moving to Portland, Maine in 2014 for a job opportunity where we now raise our two kids.
I started building furniture over 20 years ago and it still remains my strongest passion as a craftsperson. In the Kidwell Fabrications studio (a two person space), we strive to make pieces that achieve a compelling and uncompromising balance between design, proportion, functionality, and quality. The constant pursuit of progress, refinement, and execution underpins our daily drive to create, and each piece is a reflection of that pursuit.
